City `s history
The historical roots and cultural heritage of Torrevieja date back to the 18th century. Initially, the city consisted of a watchtower, several houses and an observation tower, which served as protection and surveillance of the coast. That is why the city got its name - “Torre Vieja”, which means “old tower”.

Torrevieja is located in southeast Spain, on the Costa Blanca. The city boasts one of the best climates in the world, thanks to a unique combination of Mediterranean and continental influences.
